NEWS UPDATE!

HOW TO VISIT OUR PARROTS!  Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) was confirmed in Texas, spring 2022, by Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) We’re taking every precaution to keep our parrots healthy, by isolating them from wild birds.  Following guidelines, we first removed all parrots from outdoor enclosures keeping them indoors behind the scenes.  After a short stint rotating outdoors, now visitor viewing is indoors either in Reptile Room, or Anderson Bromeliad Conservatory!  We regret our parrots cannot be outside for your enjoyment, but hope you take time to greet them while you’re here. They will be happy to see you! We continue to protect our parrot ambassadors based on latest USDA, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD, & advice from our veterinarian to help stop spread of deadly Avian Influenza.
Note:  Human infection of HPAI is extremely rare.
