Students and families here during major Texas Spring Break weeks, March 6-22, can spend a day at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, a living museum, 8545 S. Staples St., exploring gardens and conservatories, butterfly house, habitat trails, wetlands and meeting animal ambassadors. Picnics and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Parking is free. surfaced to ADA requirements.
Children’s Play Area with just-finished rehabilitation and relocation for expansion later this
spring.
Reptile Room housing variety of “Resident Reptiles” with staff to introduce to visitors.
Exotic parrots in outdoor enclosures to engage with visitors.
