H-E-B holds Gulf Coast Region TEXAS RECYCLES DAY November 15, 16, 17 at Botanical Gardens!
H-E-B pays your admission IF you bring along
a recycled plastic bottle, or single-use plastic bag, per person.
South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center invites the public to celebrate Texas Recycles Day, sponsored by H-E-B, November 15-17. Each visitor who brings a plastic bottle or single-use plastic bag from any retailer receives FREE ADMISSION that day to the Botanical Gardens, normally a $10 value for adults!
“Preserving the environment is a mission of both H-E-B and the Botanical Gardens. Visitors can help conserve and protect “Our Texas, Our Future” as they enjoy the Botanical Gardens & Nature Center’s many floral exhibits and entertaining Butterfly House, Treehouse, Resident Reptiles and tropical parrots,” emphasized Dr. Michael Womack, STBGNC Executive Director.
H-E-B’s Recycling Operation
Visitors’ recyclable items will be placed in a special recycling bin after check-in; and they can learn how H-E-B’s across their market areas process reusable items brought to their stores, placing them in salvage trucks going to the San Antonio H-E-B Returned Goods Center, where partners sort items for bailing. Bails are sent to recycling vendors, rendered into plastic pellets to produce new plastic products i.e. “Field & Future” trash bags, composite building materials, more.
H-E-B has recycled more than 50 million pounds of plastic bags since 2004! Customers are urged to return their single-use plastic bags to the store, since the City of Corpus Christi no longer recycles them.
