Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) has been confirmed in Texas, by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). We are taking every precaution to keep our parrots safe and healthy.  For that reason, our birds will remain behind the scenes, away from outdoor habitats and public access until the threat has passed.

We are following recommendations from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and TPWD to help stop the spread of this deadly virus among birds.  Human infection of HPAI is rare. However, humans unknowingly can carry airborne or solid contamination on shoes or clothing, to bird habitats. We will be monitoring HPAI closely and adjusting protocols accordingly.

Private Parrot Interactions and Parrot Talk programs temporarily have been suspended until further notice, (though our website still may contain references to parrots or these temporarily suspended programs).
