“Legacy gifts” make a lasting impact! Whether during or after your lifetime, several charitable plans allow you to support both family and the non-profit Botanical Gardens. An estate attorney or financial advisor can guide you in supporting the Gardens. “Naming Rights” are possible depending on project, scope and donation amount.

PLAN NOW for GIVING LATER, Maintaining control of your goals!

  • Transfer of appreciated stock owned more than a year.
  • Grant from your Donor Advised Fund.
  • When you are at least 70 ½ (now 72), a gift from your IRA, made directly to the Botanical Gardens by your Account Custodian.
  • Gifts now or later may be designated for the Botanical Gardens ENDOWMENT, held at the Coastal Bend Community Foundation, funding the future.
  • Real estate or mineral rights may be donated in the present, or willed in the future for the Botanical Gardens to lease or sell for income.
  • Make a gift through your will, or revocable living trust.
  • Bequeath a specific asset, or amount of money— cash, stock or other property.
  • Leave a percentage of your estate to the Gardens.
  • Provide a residual gift, what remains in estate— after all obligations are met.
  • A CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST provides income for yourself or others, for a specific amount of time, at a fixed amount or fixed percentage. At the end of the period, the “remainder” goes to the Botanical Gardens.
  • A CHARITABLE LEAD TRUST is the inverse. The Gardens would “lead”, receiving income for a period of time, with heirs then receiving the remainder.
  • “NAMING RIGHTS” are possible depending on project, scope and donation amount.
