TAMU-CC Sculpture I students “wired” learning unique sculpture medium for semester project!
“Wired Life”, previewed for guests at “Moonlight Luau in the Gardens” Friday, October 4, remains on display through at least mid-November.
Manseau, an established artist, current MFA student and first-time instructor, got the idea for the University / Botanical Gardens collaboration on a Gardens visit with two young nephews. Through the project, students learned about wire sculpture using re-bar and re-bar wire, as well as public art installation techniques.
“Wired Life” is now open to Gardens visitors, included in general admission.
Botanical Gardens MEMBERS and TAMU-CC sculpture students, faculty and their guests are invited to an Artists’ Reception from 6-7:30 pm, Friday, October 11, at the Gardens.
