Wilderness Experience Kids Camp

CORPUS CHRISTI--This summer, the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center offers three sessions of WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE KIDS CAMP!  Children ages seven through nine may attend the June10-13 or July 8-11 session.  The session for ages 10 through 12 will be held June 24-27.  Camp hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. 

            “Wilderness Experience” introduces campers to new pathways of discovery, and secrets of the wilderness and its ecological conservation—through fun, hands-on segments like wildlife study, endangered species, wetlands, native plants, plant propagation, water fowl, and nature arts and crafts.  Besides this “walk on the wild side,” kids also get to tour the colorful, exotic floral displays in the 180-acre Botanical Gardens & Nature Center.

Tuition is $85 per child per session ($70 Gardens & Nature Center members), and includes take-home projects, a T-shirt and daily admission.  Some segments will be outdoors.  Kids will need a sack lunch, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat!
