FLAMINGO FANDANGO 2010
opened Sunday, July 4, after winds from Hurricane Alex fortunately passed us by, but the rain didn’t.
Now, more than 100 haute couture pink flamingos are in place—some outside, some in the Orchid House and new Anderson Bromeliad Conservatory. This year’s Designer Flock is outstanding both in creativity and quality, as well as sheer numbers!
So, make Flamingo Fandango a MUST-SEE this summer. In the Visitors Center, pick up your ballot to vote for VISITORS CHOICE Flamingo! (If the first two wet weeks of the exhibit are an indicator, some of our outdoor birds occasionally may be draped in plastic to protect our designers’ effort.) But our indoor flamingos will be strutting their stuff!!!
Remember, our summer hours are 7:30 am to 7:30 pm daily! Flamingo Fandango, which continues through September 6, is included in your general admission fee. Of course, members are admitted free!
